“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7).

I know all about having life completely turn your world upside down. I know the feeling of sheer terror as tragedy strikes and you are left with the remnants of what could have been. I’ve been in the valley that seems to stretch for miles with no end in sight.

I also know all about that unexplainable peace from God that covers you like a blanket in the midst of all of that. I have been told devastating news by doctors, and felt the peace of God sweep into the room to shield and protect me from unimaginable pain and loss.

I know all about being able to praise God and being “okay” when I really shouldn’t be. Too many times to count, His love and grace has sustained me and held me up when I should be in pieces.

I know all about the wilderness, but I also know about the mountaintop. There are seasons in life.  Some are great and some are terrible. I have learned that God is constant. He is steadfast and absolutely nothing about Him ever changes. He is steady. His love is relentless and His peace goes beyond anything our minds could ever comprehend.

His peace can protect your mind when you are facing a storm. God’s peace can shield your mind from lies from the enemy when you are in the middle of a dry season. Allow His peace to guard your heart and mind today, and know He is a good God.

Prayer:  Lord, today I ask for your peace. The kind of peace that transcends all understanding. I need more of you today. Shield my mind and keep me safe in the midst of this storm.
