“And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.” II Peter 1:7 Charity: the act of giving money, food, or other kinds of help to people who are poor, sick, etc. This is the most common description of this word, but St. Paul’s classical description of charity is found…
“Charge them that are rich, in this world, that they be not highinded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy.” (1 Timothy 6:18 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible) Trips are not always easy. On a…
“Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.” (Jeremiah 17:7 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible.) Jeremiah’s prophecy was not all prophetic. He cautioned the Israelites not to misplace their confidence in the middle of their distresses. This is something…
Our Pastor has been teaching from I Peter over the last few weeks, and this verse in chapter 4, really stood out.
As I write these devotions each month, I ask the Lord to give me something to write about that will be a blessing to someone else. It may be a small ministry, but all the Lord requires is that we give our best effort to whatever task He gives us to do.
Little is much when God is in it. If the Lord can use what I write to help one other person, then it is work the time and effort.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for the opportunity to share the thoughts you have laid upon my heart. May they be a blessing to others.
“For the mountains may move and the hills disappear, but even then my faithful love for you will remain. My covenant of blessing will never be broken,” says the LORD, who has mercy on you,” (Isaiah 54:10, Holy Bible, New Living Translation).

I can’t imagine a day that mountains of majestic beauty will be swallowed into the earth or crumble into the sea leaving a flat skyline. God says even if that catastrophic phenomenon occurs, it won’t shake His love for me. His covenant of blessings will continue, never to be broken.
Prayer: Lord, if the day comes when mountains slip into the sea, I will cling to Your promise. Your love and blessings will continue to be mine. Amen.
