Psalms 62:8 “Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.” Have you ever had something you wanted to talk to someone about, but thought maybe it was too heavy for them to handle? That perhaps they would…
“God’s loyal love couldn’t have run out, his merciful love couldn’t have dried up. They’re created new every morning. How great your faithfulness! I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over). He’s all I’ve got left.” (Lamentations 3:22-24 in The Message) Lamentations is written by a prophet who…
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. (1 John 4:4, NIV) Life is hard. I can’t begin to imagine how much harder it would be without knowing that God is with…
Matthew 14:14 “And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and He healed their sick.”
As we read the stories of Jesus while He was on earth, His compassion is so evident. He healed the sick, raised the dead, restored sight to the blind, and even met the needs of a crowd of hungry people. In one place, it says He healed all who came to Him. He treated all alike.
As followers of the Lord Jesus, we must show compassion to those who are hurting, to those who are in need of comfort, to those who are searching for answers to life’s problems. This world is full of hurting people, and they should be able to look to us for help. We may not have the resources to help all of them, but we can lift them up in prayer, and ask the Lord to meet their need.
When the world looks at us, do they see that we have been with Jesus and that we care about them?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, give us a compassion for the hurting people around us, and help them to see Jesus in us.

“But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” (Luke 11:1 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible.) I heard something that made me stop and consider what love is really all about. The question was asked, “How…
The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith. But some people have missed this whole point. (1 Timothy 1:5-6, NLT) Chapter one of Timothy does not waste any time before getting into…
Although you have never seen Christ, you love him. You don’t see him now, but you believe in him. You are extremely happy with joy and praise that can hardly be expressed in words as you obtain the salvation that is the goal of your faith. (1 Peter 1:8-9, GWT)…
“This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.” (John 15:12-14 from the NLT of the Holy Bible) I’ve had…
“For the mountains may move and the hills disappear, but even then my faithful love for you will remain. My covenant of blessing will never be broken,” says the LORD, who has mercy on you,” (Isaiah 54:10, Holy Bible, New Living Translation).

I can’t imagine a day that mountains of majestic beauty will be swallowed into the earth or crumble into the sea leaving a flat skyline. God says even if that catastrophic phenomenon occurs, it won’t shake His love for me. His covenant of blessings will continue, never to be broken.
Prayer: Lord, if the day comes when mountains slip into the sea, I will cling to Your promise. Your love and blessings will continue to be mine. Amen.
