Have you ever noticed how hard it is to change someone who has a made up mind? Call it stubborn if you want; a mind that’s made up simply cannot be changed. From a nasty prison cell, the Apostle Paul wrote this bold, made up mind statement in the Book of Romans 8:38-39, “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (King James Version of the Holy Bible). The scenarios in this list have caused many people to give up and turn away from God. But, Paul went on record to let the church in Rome know that he had his mind made up. Nothing is able to separate him from God’s Love! Is your mind made up?
Prayer: Lord, I’ve got my mind made up to live for You regardless. Though I walk through lonely valleys, You are with me. I’m not throwing in the towel. I’ll live for You come what may. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!

“Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report:  if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”  (Philippians 4:9 in the King James Version…

Man holding arms up in praise against golden sunset“But I, the LORD, search all hearts and examine secret motives. I give all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve” (Jeremiah 17:10 in the New Living Translation of the Holy Bible)

This verse gives new meaning to the phrase, “You can read me like a book.” Our hearts and minds are like an open book to our Heavenly Father. Our every thought and actions are known to Him. This realization should make us want to cry out, “Search me O, Lord and make me clean!”

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I long for Your approval upon my life. Help me to conduct myself in a manner that is pleasing to You and let everything I say, think and do bring glory to You! Amen.
