“Then David the king, stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people. As for me, I had in mine a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and for the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building: But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build a house for my name…” (1 Chronicles 28:2-3 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible.)
A bucket list is comprised of things you would like to do before you die. Jamaica, Europe and Sight ‘n Sound are some of the items on my bucket list. Some are attainable and some are seemingly impossible. Nice thought though.
David was king. Finances were not a problem. He had a bucket list too. He wanted to build a house for God. Such a noble thing, but God would not allow him to do so. So, he did the next best thing and left the supplies for his son Solomon to fulfill his dream.
The bottom line is that God knows best. His will is what I want regardless of my wishes; even with my bucket list.
What’s on your bucket list? Don’t get upset with God if you cannot do what you’d like to do.
Prayer: Your will, Lord, is what I desire in my life. Since You know what’s best for me, I will say yes to Your will and Your way. Amen!
