“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” Matthew 11:28-29

The greatest desire we should have is to be like Jesus. The more we read His Word, the closer we draw to Him. As we study His life in the Gospels, we learn how He reacted to different situations, and we desire to have those same attributes manifested in our lives.

We should not be overly concerned about failing or disappointing other people, but about failing and disappointing God. He is the One we need to please. If we please Him, others will see His Spirit working in our lives and desire to know Him too.

When we can forget about what others think and concentrate fully on finding what the Lord wants in our lives, we will find the rest that these verses speak about.

Prayer: Jesus, I thank you for the peace and rest I find in you, as I endeavour each day to draw closer to you, and to please you in all that I do.
