“And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst” (John 6:35 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible).

The Weight Watcher program has a list of what they call “power foods.” The list includes foods that are satisfying and nutritional to the body. Carbohydrates are tasty but don’t satisfy for long. Proteins are necessary for our daily diet.

God’s Word is food that will satisfy the soul. There is no need that God cannot fill. He satisfies those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. Life and peace for the soul are found in Him alone.

While I was shopping this week, I heard the cries of a hungry baby. I noticed that Dad was trying to pacify the child as Mom shopped. Finally, the father managed to ease a bottle in the baby’s mouth and the cries ceased.

Human beings get hungry and thirsty after a short period of time without food. Our stomachs growl to let us know it’s time to eat. When your soul cries out for nourishment, remember only Jesus satisfies!

Pray: Today my strength is waning. I need to be fed by You, Lord. Nothing else gives me strength like Your Word.
