“For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth” Psalm 71:5 Thinking today about a song that I haven’t heard in years, “Whispering Hope.” The first verse reads: “Soft as the voice of an angel breathing a lesson unheard Hope with a gentle persuasion…
“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You” (Isaiah 26:3, New King James Version). What a sad place the world would be if we trusted no one. Stephen Covey says, “Trust is the glue of life.” All successful relationships in…
“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:” (1 John 5:14 in the King James Version of the Holy Bible).
The word confidence is used 38 times throughout the Bible and usually refers to our confidence in God. Confidence is built on what He has done for us in the past. Trust is based upon the relationship we have with God.
We’re all undeserving yet He loves us. We’re His children and He wants the best for us. Go ahead and ask Him anything! He will listen to your requests.
Prayer: Lord, I thank You for Your faithfulness! I am confident that You hear me when I come with my requests. Today I’m struggling with a situation I can’t handle, but I bring my petition to You knowing You will see me through! Amen.

“Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous, Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” Psalms 27:14 I can’t seem to get away from the “waiting theme” lately. I am 28 weeks pregnant and feel as though I’ve been waiting all year for this baby to arrive.. Oh wait, that’s…
“He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.” Romans 4:20-23 I mentioned Abraham and his…
“Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed” Psalm 37:3 David wrote so many beautiful psalms, and we can always find something there no matter what circumstances we are in. I have read this Psalm many times, but…
Psalms 20:7 “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.” Oftentimes when we read scripture like the one written above, we brush it off and convince ourselves that it doesn’t apply to us. I mean, who actually owns a…
“I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.” Genesis 9:13 As we begin reading the Bible through for another year, it seems no matter how often we have read these familiar stories, something new…
“And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you” (Isaiah 46:4). Recently I read a perfect illustration of trust. Have you ever noticed the expression of an infant being carried on the shoulder of his mother or father? The baby’s face is a study in total relaxation and trust. While the parent sees where the two are headed, the child can see only where they have been. The infant is not worried about being at least five feet in the air because he trusts the one that is holding him. God promises to carry us for a lifetime.
Prayer: Lord, I want to trust You more. I want to continue leaning on my Father’s shoulder knowing that He knows the way to take me. I am dependent on Your care.
